Swimming Inside This Blue Spectrum

Every single morning, Mayah goes out to her pool and assesses the water. 💧 Sometimes the tall trees are casting a shade on the pool, so the color of the water is Dark Blue. She tips her toes to checks the temperature, then, CANNONBALL!! She jumps in.

Sometimes the sun is shining brightly on the pool and it’s a beautiful Light Blue. Mayah tips her toes in check the temperature and then SPLASH!! dives right in.

Some days it’s just too cold and I get lazy to clean the pool. Leaves start to decay turning the water to a Greenish Blue. So, we grab the pool skimmer, pick out the leaves one by one doing whatever we need to save the pool water until it’s beautiful and blue again. But it’s just too cold to jump in. Does that stop Mayah? Nooo way! Determined, she jumps in, not even testing her toes because she knows it’s too cold 🥶. She swims a couple laps dives up and down, alll around until her lips are Blue. Cooolllld sooo cooolllldddd she says as she trembles into the house wrapped in her Blue towel.

Some days it’s raining, and the wind is blowing ever so hard. She peeps out the window 🪟 sooo sad and Blue because she won’t get to swim. So, we fill the bathtub with water 🚿 throw in her favorite Mercat toy to get her smiling and Splish splash water everywhere. Mayah got her toes wet today after all.

Swimming in this Blue spectrum every day has many ups, many downs, even all arounds, but when nighttime comes, it’s too dark to swim. To me the pool seems as if it’s black, but Mayah stands there smiling twirling her fingers in the edge of the water. “What are you looking at Mayah”? I curiously ask, but she just continues to smile. So, I kneel down next to her and stare at the water with her. Immediately I gasp! “What a Beautiful view my love.” Now I can see the reflection of a big Blue moon smiling back at me.
