“I, Elcedia Awe, have never encountered such an impactful work shop, it’s life changing. Holistically for the first time, I have been blown away in awe. This course has made my career and my life easier and less stressful. It has given me answers to the unanswered for many years. I feel equipped with the wisdom, tools, understanding and matching the correct terminologies of situations that I face daily, especially in the classroom. Who is this course for?
The Paraprofessional Course is for anyone interested in learning more about working with those who are neurodiverse or have a special education need. You are welcome to register if you are a:
- Parent, guardian, family member or caregiver
- Teacher — pre-service, in-service, special education or support
- Social worker, medical practicioner, nurse, community worker, police, coach or other professional working with special needs children
- Person seeking employment in this field
You must have a minimum of a high school diploma to enrol.
Dates and schedule
Five Saturdays: October 17, 24, 31 and November 7, 14, 2026
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., with an hour for lunch
Location: Corozal District Education Center
To successfully complete this course, participants must attend all five sessions and pass the final assessment.
What it costs, and what’s included
The course fee is $100 BZD, which covers:
- Your Paraprofessional Handbook
- Access to the Paraprofessional Google Drive — a wealth of resources you’ll keep using long after the course ends
- A small graduation ceremony with your official certificate
Teachers who successfully complete the course earn 30 CPD hours.
