“I, Elcedia Awe, have never encountered such an impactful work shop, it’s life changing. Holistically for the first time, I have been blown away in awe. This course has made my career and my life easier and less stressful. It has given me answers to the unanswered for many years. I feel equipped with the wisdom, tools, understanding and matching the correct terminologies of situations that I face daily, especially in the classroom. I have gained extreme confidence to help my entire community and outside of it. I am so encouraged to keep educating myself in this area. I can now be that teacher who empathize, defend, protect and fight to see our country equip our Belizean people to satisfy their needs. But this course taught me so much about children with disabilities, and I went back to my classroom and applied the different methods I’ve learned. Now, nobody is sweeter than my autistic student. Punta Gorda
The Paraprofessional Course is for anyone who is interested in learning more about how to work with those who are neurodiverse or have a special education need. Parents, guardians, family members, teachers (pre-service and in-service), social workers, and those seeking employment are welcome to register. You MUST have a minimum of a High School Diploma, though.
Once you register, we will contact you within 72 hours with more information. THEN we will send you banking information so you can pay for the course. Once payment is made, your space in the course is confirmed. Please note, we must have a minimum of 25 persons confirmed for the course to happen.
The cost of this course is $100. This includes a Paraprofessional Handbook, access to the paraprofessional Google Drive, which is a WEALTH of information, and a small graduation ceremony at the end with your official certificate.
Teachers who successfully complete this course will earn 30 CPDs.
The Punta Gorda Course will be one week, starting Monday, July 27 to Friday,y July 31, 2026. It will be frmo AM to 3 PM with a one- hour lunch. To successfully complete this course, participants MUST attend all 5 sessions and pass the assessment.
